The Scenic Route: Tips for Riding a Motorcycle from Danang to Hue

Are you planning a motorcycle trip from Danang to Hue? If so, you're in for a treat!

This route is known for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the Hai Van Pass and Lang Co. The good news is that it's not as difficult or dangerous as you might have heard.

We recently drove our new motorcycle from Danang to Hue and it was an unforgettable experience. Here are some tips we picked up to help you make the most of your journey.

The distance between Danang and Hue is around 100-111 km, and it should take 2-3 hours to complete. We managed to do it in 2.5 hours.

Make sure you have a good map or GPS to help you navigate and plan your stops.

  1. Take the Nguyen Tat Thanh road from Danang, located in the city's eastern part. This road is known for its beautiful coastal scenery and will take you past some of Danang's most popular beaches.
  2. Continue along the road until you reach Hai Van Pass. This is a mountain pass that offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. The road can be steep and winding, so drive carefully and take your time.

3. Once you reach the other side of the pass, stop at Lap An (you can put the address: Lap An Lagoon on your map), so you don't miss the Nguyen Van road and take a chance to view a picturesque fishing village that is home to a beautiful beach. Take some time to relax and enjoy the scenery before continuing to Hue.

4. Finally, continue along Highway 1A until you reach Hue. This road is well-maintained and will take you through several small towns and villages. You'll be able to see the daily life of locals and experience the rural charm of Vietnam.

We recommend driving this route when the weather is sunny so you can fully appreciate the breathtaking scenery. You'll see beautiful beaches, lush green forests, and stunning mountain views.

Stay safe! While the road isn't as difficult or dangerous as you might have heard, staying safe is still important. Wear a helmet and other protective gear, and be cautious on the corners and steep hills.

In summary, driving a motorcycle from Danang to Hue is a must-do for anyone visiting Vietnam. With a little planning, you can enjoy the stunning natural beauty of this scenic route while staying safe and making unforgettable memories.

Have a great trip.
